Russian Navy continues to expand. Another replenishment ship (tanker) of project 23130 was floated today at Nevsky Shipyard (in Russian).
These are modern replenishment ships with 14.000 ton full displacement, are capable to replenish three ships simultaneously underway. The new one is Vasilii Nikitin. First of the class, fully operational ship is Akademik Pashin.
These replenishment tankers (oilers) are capable to replenish dry cargo also. Two more are being built as I type this. This indicates Russian Navy's plans for constant ocean-going for stability/deterrence operations and in this case these ships become absolutely crucial.
