E.g. the political objective of NATO's war against Russia through its best proxy ever, 404, was simple--to inflict military defeat on Russia, which, in conjunction with sanctions from hell creates a massive suffering and humiliation and, hence, Putin's "regime" falls, Russian fifth column comes to power, Russia is broken up and the US and its European jackals get their hands on Russia's resources. After that the West squeezes China and the full global control is achieved. 

Keep in mind, all this was predicated on VSU taking (they were already pre-deployed for that) LDNR, defeating possible Russian attempt at relieving defeated LDNR militias and ... what a plan. But that is the POINT--Pentagon and clowns from London MoD and other NATO "experts" DID consider military defeat of Russian Army in LDNR. In fact, that WAS the plan. Here, I want to stress it, where I and Scott diverge--this IS how it was briefed in the White House. And here is an interesting quip today:

This is a critical admission because it wasn't "somehow"--this was a belief which permeated Washington as a whole, including those people in CIA and Pentagon who spent 7 years preparing VSU for "defeating" Russia and who planned this whole catastrophe. And that brings fore this point about "American way of war", same as it goes to infamous "Prigozhin Mutiny" and other "operational" tricks NATO exercised against manifestly weak and inferior opponents and whose whole operational culture is built around turkey shoots with near impunity. I can only say--study the REAL history of WW II, not the BS which is being taught in the US military academies--that will be a good start. Don't hold your breath though.

US President Donald Trump has reiterated his threat to impose 100% tariffs against countries of the BRICS bloc, of which India is a part, if they attempt to replace the US dollar with an alternative currency. "The idea that the BRICS countries are trying to move away from the dollar, while we stand by and watch, is OVER," Trump said in a post on his social media platform, Truth Social on Friday. "We are going to require a commitment from these seemingly hostile countries that they will neither create a new BRICS currency, nor back any other currency to replace the mighty US dollar or, they will face 100% tariffs, and should expect to say goodbye to selling into the wonderful US economy," he stated.

Yes, about "wonderful economy". If it gets any more wonderfuler, we may slide into the great depression, and somebody has to explain to DJT that the only reason this hasn't happened yet is because big players do not want the whole of global economy going bananas once the US drowns. The foundation of which US Dollar's "exorbitant privilege" rested is not there anymore, least of all its main pillar--the mythology of US military power. India is a soft target, but in the end she a huge Peninsula in the Eurasian landmass southern belly and she has a lot of business within this mass. A lot. In 1983, President Ronald Reagan announced he was launching a Strategic Defense Initiative, popularly known as “Star Wars,” with the goal of rendering nuclear weapons “impotent and obsolete.” He imagined lasers in space shooting down Soviet intercontinental ballistic missiles, effectively creating a space shield to save America from nuclear Armageddon. More than 40 years and hundreds of billions of dollars in missile-defense spending later, the United States has not come close to achieving Reagan’s lofty aspirations. Space lasers did not prove practical. Neither did a madcap scheme known as Brilliant Pebbles for lofting thousands of interceptors into space. The Airborne Laser — a Boeing 747 equipped with a laser — got to the testing phase before being canceled as too impractical. The United States did develop and deploy effective defenses, such as the Patriot battery and the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) system, for use against short- and medium-range missiles. But attempts to stop a nuclear missile strike on the United States have never advanced much beyond President George W. Bush’s deployment in 2004 of 44 ground-based interceptors in Alaska and California. This system was designed to defend against a few missiles launched by a rogue state, not a massive nuclear attack from Russia or China. And it isn’t clear the system could achieve even that objective: In tests, the interceptors hit their targets only 50 percent of the time.

Obviously, calling Patriot or THAAD "effective defenses" is akin to me calling myself Albert Einstein and this is just the start. Trump does want a second issue of SDI, this time also designed to intercept ... hypersonic weapons. You know, all those orbital lasers and other piu-piu devices. Even Atlantic Council--yes, this wet dreams generator machine--study is kinda subdued in its expectations, albeit still missing critical fact--a paradigm shift: 

The objective of homeland missile defense is not an impregnable missile defense shield for the country, but rather sufficient defenses to counter adversary missile threats of coercion—to enable US regional defense strategy—and defenses adequate to ensure the survivability and endurance of US nuclear retaliatory forces and nuclear command and control against any combination of adversaries. This requires some tailoring of the missile defense mission depending on the strategy objectives and missile capabilities of potential adversaries. The study outlines three categories of threats or scenarios for which missile defense must provide a solution: first, there are the smaller and possibly undeterrable threats presented by accidental and unauthorized launches as well as by countries such as North Korea that have limited nuclear capabilities; the second category is limited Russian and Chinese missile threats meant to coerce the United States (to provoke but not enrage); finally, there is the larger scale (but still limited) preemptive attack against US nuclear forces and command and control designed to prevent nuclear retaliation. 

The reason being that the US lost arms race on THREE critical tracks:

1. Anti-missile defense, having nothing comparable to S-500/550, S-300V4 or A-235 Nudol.

2. Hypersonic weapons ranging from tactical-operational to strategic. US has none.

3. Survivable satellite constellation in case of real war. 

The gap is growing and to even narrow it somehow requires way more than Power Point presentation. 

There is far too much stress placed on the efficacy of the Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) system with its GBIs and radars for the defense of the homeland. Originally intended to undergo regular upgrades after its initial deployment in 2004, modernization of the GMD system has failed to keep pace with advancing missile threats. Moreover, the GMD system was never meant to stand alone against the threat—but rather as part of a layered approach that contemplates defenses in other phases of flight to compensate for the GMD system’s shortcomings and to provide additional intercept opportunities.  

"Additional intercept opportunities" are impossible in the US today, because it is not just technology or arrogance, it is the wrong view of the war in general and not understanding how to fight it other than in PR and propaganda realms. The Holocaust cult in the West takes great pride in pushing the narrative that US and British soldiers liberated the death camps. That is not true. They liberated concentration camps in Germany, Austria and Czechoslovakia (i.e., Flossenbürg and Theresienstadt). There is a significant difference between the camps in Western Europe and those that operated in Poland.

Credit for putting an end to the mass extermination centers–all of which were located in Poland–goes to the Soviets. Here are the other camps in Poland where mass executions of Jews occurred:

Majdenak—October 1, 1941, until July 22, 1944, was captured nearly intact. (34 months)

59,000 Jews were murdered.

Chelmno—operated from December 8, 1941 to April 11, 1943, parallel to Operation Reinhard (17 months operational)–200,000 to 350,000 Jews were murdered.

Belzac—operated from 17 March 1942 to the end of June 1943 (15 months)–430,000 to 500,000 murdered Jews.

Sobibor—Operational from May 1942 – 14 October 1943 (Part of Operation Reinhard) (17 months)–170,000 to 250,000 Jews murdered

Treblinka—camp operated between 23 July 1942 and 19 October 1943 as part of Operation Reinhard, (16 months)–700,000 to 900,000 Jews murdered

Between 2.5 and 3.1 million Jews died in these camps. Frankly, more would have died were it not for Soviet victories over the Nazis. Now we have come full circle. The Poles are sending money and weapons to Neo-Nazis in Ukraine, where Stepan Bandera is celebrated as a national hero for his role in overseeing the slaughter of more than 100,000 Poles during World War II. The hypocrisy and irony are overwhelming.

Speaking of irony, on the day that Israelis celebrated the liberation of Auschwitz, almost 1.5 million Palestinians moved north in Gaza to reoccupy their shattered homes and businesses. A truly sad irony.

Leningrad Siege Lifting Anniversary.

Affront to history is what modern West has become. 

Russia’s exclusion from the commemorations marking the 80th anniversary of Auschwitz’s liberation is not just a diplomatic snub – it is an insult to history and to the memory of millions who suffered and died during World War II. This decision, part of a growing trend of historical revisionism, diminishes the decisive role played by the Soviet Union in defeating Nazi Germany and liberating concentration camps, including Auschwitz. It’s a troubling development that undermines the lessons of the past in favor of political expediency.  On January 27, 1945, the Soviet Red Army liberated Auschwitz, revealing to the world the unimaginable horrors of the Holocaust. This event became a symbol of the triumph of humanity over the worst atrocities of the Nazi regime. Yet, in 2025, Russian representatives were excluded from the anniversary ceremony at the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum in Poland. Piotr Cywinski, the museum’s director, justified the decision by citing Russia’s actions in the Ukraine conflict, stating that a country “that does not understand the value of liberty has something to do at a ceremony dedicated to the liberation.”

I remain on record--Red Army soldiers' graves and monuments in Europe should all be repatriated to Russia (however massive such an undertaking could be) and let Europe be. Next time they start (and they will) building concentration camps and dehumanizing each-other, Russia should simply stay away, behind the wall of overwhelming nuclear and conventional power.

Last week defence secretary John Healy was forced to send a clear warning to Putin, stating: “We know what you are doing and we will not shy away from robust action to protect this country.” He revealed that military chiefs had ordered the Royal Navy to intercept Russia’s Yantar spy ship in the English Channel in November - sending the frigate HMS Somerset and the UK’s new underwater surveillance ship Proteus, which carries sub-sea robots. Yantar is one of more than 50 vessels operated by Russia’s Main Directorate of Deep-Sea Research, Gugi, and has the capability to deploy robots deep into the English Channel and North Sea Though not officially part of Russia’s navy. Gugi draws personnel from the 29th Separate Submarine Division and answers directly to ​Moscow's MoD.

President Trump reportedly held a “fiery” call with Denmark’s Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen over the president’s insistence that U.S. control of Greenland is necessary for American national security.  A 45 minute call between Trump and Frederiksen last week spiraled into confrontation, senior European officials told The Financial Times. Trump, at that time the president-elect, was reportedly aggressive and threatened tariff’s against the NATO ally. National Security Council spokesperson Brian Hughes did not comment on the tone of the call, but said that Trump is focused on Greenland as part of the larger competition between China and Russia.  “President Trump has been clear that the safety and security of Greenland is important to the United States as China and Russia make significant investments throughout the Arctic region,” Hughes said in a statement.

This is typical Trump who has very little understanding of Arctic and what it takes to compete there on purely technological level--the US is not even in the same league with Russia there--but the US needs to back decomposing USD with something tangible, and Greenland and its resources (and continental shelf) could come as a mortgage. Meanwhile, new textbook on WW II was published in the US.

This strategy, Kellogg said, is one possible outcome of Trump meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at Trump Tower last year.

Trump's rhetoric and chest thumping is not helping his chances to save US's face in this clusterfuck of a situation. It is not just important from the standpoint of the global economy, but also to prevent further human suffering, he told the World Economic Forum in Davos via teleconference on Thursday. “Millions of lives are being wasted,” Trump claimed, referring to the ongoing hostilities and calling the conflict “horrible.” “I am not talking economy, I am not talking economics, I am not talking about natural resources, I’m just talking about so many young people being killed in this war,” he added. The source of the figures used by Trump is unclear. In December, Russian Defense Minister Andrey Belousov said Ukraine had suffered almost 1 million battlefield casualties in total since the start of the conflict in February 2022. Kiev has claimed that Moscow had lost over 800,000 troops as of January 15. Neither side has commented on its own losses for a long time.

Russian response was clear: 

The Kremlin responded to the statement by saying that it saw “nothing new” in yet another threat of sanctions made by Washington. During his first presidential term, Trump had often resorted to sanctions, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told journalists on Thursday, adding that the US president “likes such methods.”  Moscow is still ready for an equal and respectful dialogue, Peskov said, adding that Trump had engaged in that kind of exchange with Putin during his first term in office. Now, Russia is waiting for similar signals but has not seen any so far, according to the spokesman.

This is correct definition of what Biden and cabal of his handlers were doing both domestically and internationally can only be qualified as crimes, ranging from war crimes to crimes against humanity. So, the SMO continues.

Sorry, Europe--you wanted it, and I cannot say that it is totally undeserved. Far from it. The only thing Europe, which is being driven into the ground by its "elites" and huge portions of population, can hope for is that DJT will have his attention focused on Panama rather than on Greenland and even at that only because the US doesn't have icebreaker fleet required for operations in the Far North. But I see, Ze's mode of communications using profanity is now being well received in European Parliament--another useless and pompous org created to cover up unfolding totalitarianism over most of Europe.

A former top US military official has warned that Russia is on the brink of "collapsing" which could lead to dire nuclear repercussions, according to his recent statements. Retired General Ben Hodges, who previously led the United States Army in Europe, has been actively sharing insights on the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, where Russian troops have suffered severe losses over nearly three years of combat. Ukraine's military claims that the war has resulted in over 800,000 Russian casualties, though figures are disputed.

Why only 800,000? No, why not go full Monty and claim that Russians suffered 2 million, nay--20 million casualties. US generals completely discredited the US Army and paraded themselves as low league amateurs who cannot even grasp the basic dynamics of attrition in modern war. Since Ben Hodges' times things got even worse in the US military. Much worse. They are outsiders who can only observe in disbelief the scale and complexity of operations they never could and cannot conduct. Professional envy and ignorance are powerful drivers towards hatred which removes last remnants of professionalism and integrity. 

"I think the Russian Federation is collapsing now. It's not in a straight line, but it is happening," he declared. "We should be thinking about what will happen. There will be refugees. There will be concern about nuclear weapons." "There will be people concerned about control of oil and gas and all the other resources." This is one of a very few tangibles DJT can deliver. And it is crucial and of national importance.

In Continuation Of The "Realist" Logic.

Here is an example of John Mearsheimer talking to Col. Daniel Davis today and starting immediately with the right conclusion based on a completely false premise. See for yourself--this is the start of the discussion. 

He is absolutely correct stating that Trump will not get ceasefire, but it is not because "Russians are on the roll". Here we have, AGAIN, a complete confusion re: Russia's intentions and how General Staff works. For starters, Russians were on the roll the moment in 2023 it became clear that not only much touted "counteroffensive" has been defeated (with up to 200 000 casualties for VSU and their NATO curators), but because of HOW it was defeated--VSU forces have been demolished in the forefield (a "security zone" per the US Army's Field Manuals). Let's rewind back to January 6, 2023, Orthodox Christmas time. Here is Dmitry Medvedev verbatim: 

The Ukrainians were extended a hand of Christian mercy on the Great Feast. Their leaders rejected it. I think most of our servicemen taking part in the SVO breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing the refusal of the main Ukrainian clowns to cease fire on Christmas. They understand only brute force and shrilly demand food from their owners. This is the basis of training. I think it is clear that in 2023, and that was even before catastrophic "counteroffensive", that Russians have anticipated this suicidal move on part of Washington, and it was after this disaster for Washington and Kiev that General Staff issued forecast, extremely precise, that VSU lost any ability to conduct strategic offensive operations (in Russian). They still could do suicidal PR actions such as invasion of Kursk Oblast, where they lost a whole combined arms army, but for some reason most American "realists" and "experts" never studied Eastern Front in WW II properly (hard to do so in the West) and missed completely Russian Army setting into the strategic defense in the end of the 2022 which was the worst possible news for NATO planners who, due to them being mostly educated on Hollywood movies such as Patton, did not recognize that Russians haven't been into this business to capture territory--they are in this business for physical annihilation of the enemy, while preserving own forces. 

And it was after the strategic catastrophe of VSU in 2023 that it became absolutely clear that there will be not any "ceasefires" nor any "negotiations". Moreover, it is difficult to explain to people who grew up on American post-Vietnam military mythology (such as John Mearsheimer) that American war metrics simply do not apply to SMO, especially when for many in the US it becomes a complete revelation that Russian Army never lost operational initiative. So, the argument, that Russians are on a roll is merely an outdated geographic metric which obscures real reasons for no ceasefire. Here are the numbers again--they are beyond the grasp of any graduate of the US Army Command and General Staff College:

Having lost 166 thousand killed and wounded, (...) more than 800 tanks, almost 2,400 combat armored vehicles," Shoigu said in an interview with Russian journalists. Shoigu also said that Russian troops destroyed more than half of the Leopard tanks supplied to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. 

That's the main reason and that is what being on the roll is. Some time, I think, they have issues with basic math. 

Highlighted in yellow (in fact the whole column) is the main reason why there will be no ceasefire. This is also why I question basic military professional skills of Kellogg, who believed Kiev's propaganda BS about losses. They know very little about real war and they are terrified of a moment when they will have to face a reality--reality of who they are, not to mention always huge issues with causality.
