Hence second political objective of the Special Military Operation--denazification. That will require more than just demolishing Nazi infrastructure in Ukraine, it requires a complete rethinking and even reconstituting of Ukraine before long term treatment could be applied. Overwhelming majority of the Ukrainian youth NOT from Donbass has been brought up as radical fanatics and sympathizers of Nazi ideas. Regular POW grunts of VSU are already treated under Geneva convention, they are well fed, provided with medical help, have places to sleep and are working already on clearing Donbass and Southern Ukraine's liberated towns and cities.
This massive magnificent building in Baku, known as Government House was finished after the WW II and everyone in Baku knew that it was finished by German POWs who worked in construction. It is a good example of how POWs can contribute to what they destroy. Not in Baku's case, of course, since Wehrmacht never made it to Baku, but many objects in the Soviet Union after the war have been restored by POWs. The only reason, if it will come to that, and it will, for Russia doing anything positive towards Europe is to contain inevitable economic and social collapse which is already unfolding. In this case supporting buffer states like Hungary and Slovakia, friendly Serbia, makes total sense not just economically but geostrategically, while Latvia was the first among United Baltic Die-outs to agree to Russian conditions on resources. After about 48 hours it proclaimed it would rather die than use Russian gas. Boy, they are a feisty lot there in Latvia. Culturally, meanwhile, Western Europe is finished.

If you read comments under the video on YouTube you will see my exchange with some Irish guy about Russia's commercial aviation. He asked a reasonable question which is also irrelevant for Russia because Russian economy operates differently and the use of IL-96 with four PS-90A series engines is not only reasonable for Russia but a very good decision until PD-35 gets on-line and IL-96s will be re-mototrized with two PD-35. But most importantly what many in the West still fail to grasp is the fact that Russia doesn't care about the West and its markets. Russian internal market is huge and Russia is very autarkic and has a very long and excellent history of domestic commercial aviation.
As Borisov stated on March 16, the issue of resumption of manufacturing of IL-96s and TU-214s in larger series is being seriously considered (in Russian). So is introduction of MC-21 and SSJ-100 Russified being accelerated. The issue with IL-96 with four PS-90A(n) or TU-214 with two PS-90A(n) or even PD-14 is not technical--production lines of these aircraft are fully operational and continue to produce these aircraft--it is economic in terms of model of some subsidies to already affordable kerosene for these guys, or maybe airfare itself. So, the return of IL-96 will be very interesting. As will be that of the TU-214s which will fill in the niche until production of MC-21 and its LR version hits its peak.
I want to stress again, this video discusses this point explicitly, and I write about it for a while now: Russia CAN afford to "lose" Europe. Europe CAN NOT lose Russian energy and survive. Think about this strategic truism defining the algorithm of events. It is called strategic flexibility which neither US nor Europe have. Per sanctions: Russia will be just fine. Those will be introduced against Russia regardless.
