On the latter front, the United States is discussing with Ukraine a deal that could be worth around $100 billion, under which Kyiv would be able to buy American weapons, while in exchange the United States would get intellectual property rights for the cutting-edge systems the Ukrainians have been developing, according to a U.S. official.

Well, you know this, right?

On the other hand, this BS spreader from NBC and allegedly figure close to some US "intelligence" and defense circles (she is "stationed" in Pentagon and is most likely a shill), may have some point in a sense that the only way the US can sell its hi-end equipment is to bribe or threaten, in this particular case, Turkey. 

• Turkey has a little more than two weeks to decide whether to complete a complex arms deal with the U.S. or risk severe penalties by going through with an agreement to buy a missile system from Russia, according to multiple people familiar with the matter.
• By the end of the first week of June, Turkey must cancel the Russian deal and buy Raytheon’s U.S.-made Patriot missile defense system or face removal from Lockheed Martin’s F-35 program, forfeiture of 100 promised F-35 jets, imposition of U.S. sanctions and potential blowback from NATO.
• The U.S. State Department’s current offer is the final one, according to multiple sources.

Amanda Macias is full of sh.t, which is expected from a person with degree in journalism, that is to say having no applicable education at all except for throwing shit at the wall and seeing what sticks. She was caught by Russian media (anyone who is interested can easily find those instances) with spreading an open BS, most likely concocted by her Pentagon and CIA "sources". But here, as I say, she may have some insight and insider track because the US is desperate for Turkey not to buy S-400, let alone SU-57. So, will see if this ultimatum will surface anytime soon, not that Turkey wasn't faced with US ultimatums before. But it is a crunch time because Erdogan was quite explicit about this whole deal. Now, knowing what US MSM and people who work for them are--you still have to take all that with a large grain of salt.  But yes, the closer the "deal" with S-400 the more desperate the United States will become--can you imagine a scandal when F-35 "capabilities" will turn....ah, you all know the score here. Anyone has a good bookie to bet on Turkey folding or otherwise;-))   

UPDATE 05/23/19. LOL! Oh, the drama.

As I already mentioned it, Macias, who is nothing more than an ignorant media herald of all kinds of butt-hurt BS concocted in the deep recesses of whatever information operations org connected to Pentagon and CIA, was caught on several occasions with spreading a complete BS (in Russian) about Russian weapon systems. Again, some gal with the lack of any education (as I already stated--degree in broadcasting is not even an education) cannot possibly grasp a host of technical and operational issues related to weapons and the only thing she is good for is, yes, you guessed it already, spamming media environment with all kinds of "insider info", which is a euphemism for disinformation. 

As Always, They Lied.

Here is what NBC said:

President Donald Trump told Russia’s Vladimir Putin that if the two countries wanted to have a nuclear arms race, the U.S. would win, according to a report Thursday by NBC News.

As I stated not for once--US media is a sewer which has nothing to do with journalism and is reduced basically to propaganda outlets. Their butt-hurt is also palpable and produces Freudian outcomes, especially in projections. Kremlin, however, didn't wait to yet another US main-sewer media BS to fade away and responded almost on the spot.:

Kremlin: Trump did not speak about US readiness to win arms race in talk with Putin.

Apart from the purely military aspect of the matter--such as the ability of both sides to obliterate each-other many times over already now, what does it even mean to "win the arms race"? Did those cretins in NBC know, just for a warmup what is this:

This is apart from an obvious fact that recent Russian technologies make US anti-ballistic missile defense just a waste and restore what Russia was aiming for from the get go--return of the US within more or less stable confines of MAD (Mutually Assured Destruction), which the US for decades tried to leave. If the US wants to increase her nuclear arsenal--sure, Russia can accept the fact that now she can be annihilated whole twelve times over instead of the measly eight or nine as it is the case today. Sure, who wouldn't like to be obliterated by nukes twelve times over--nine times is so yesterday.  In the end, it is strictly internal American matter on deciding how to completely bankrupt itself while stealing hundreds of billions (or trillions) of dollars in producing dubious weapon systems which do not work (a track record of that is available upon request) and a lot of CGI driven fantasy movies about how they do.  

This disinformation (well, lie) by NBC, however, is very indicative of a complete mental breakdown of the American body politic and it does show how all those good ol' boys and girls in US establishment do feel humiliated, despite constant declarations to the contrary. Yep, sore losers. Plus, I think Donald Trump is smarter than those in US media give him credit for. So, as in the case with Skripals, which in the better times could have been a great material for Monty Python, people in US establishment are utterly incompetent for coming up with even believable lie. Indeed, what a massive case of sour grapes and of being pathetic sore losers--can not even lie properly.  

In related news, as was expected for some time now, the idea of "declaring the victory and leaving" is being floated now at the highest political levels.  If this comes to fruition it will be a massively good thing for all parties involved with the exception of "democratic" head-choppers and other jihadist scam in Syria.  Well, and for Kurds, but they were warned from the get go--they didn't listen.
