Into The Jaws Of Death.

One may argue about the true meaning of Operation Overlord and the D-Day in a larger scheme of things whatever one wants, but what is not-arguable is the courage and heroism of Allies, all those Americans, Britons, Canadians, Poles, Aussies and others who went on Utah, Omaha, Juno, Gold and Sword Beaches into the Jaws of Death this Day 74 years ago. THIS must be remembered and with gratitude.

Into The Jaws Of Death--that is how this photo is known
Moscow saluted Allies with major fireworks, the real Second Front was finally opened. History will remember Ike's magnificent letter on the eve of his most important decision in life as an example of human and military courage, integrity and leadership.
So it is only appropriate today to recall and give due to those who 74 years ago took all risks in what was and remains the largest amphibious operation in history. Well done, fellows. You all are in the pantheon of great heroes forever.
