Some Insights Now Begin To Arrive.

As was anticipated. CBS reports on actuality of war from the POV of the US military personnel and lo and behold--they say what I have been saying for many years, how the real war feels. 

Survivors of the deadliest Iranian attack on U.S. forces since the war began have disputed the Pentagon's description of events and said their unit in Kuwait was left dangerously exposed when six service members were killed and more than 20 wounded. Speaking publicly for the first time, members of the targeted unit offered CBS News a detailed account of the attack and its harrowing aftermath from the perspective of those on the ground. 

Of course, they have to dispute what Hegseth says. This is not your small arms firefights (however nasty they could be) where you call in CAS, this is long-range fires, my friends, and they are longer than many of those in the US arsenal. 

In the hours before the attack, incoming missile alarms had signaled to a crew of about 60 troops to take cover in a cement bunker while a ballistic missile flew overhead. But around 9:15 a.m., an all-clear alert sounded. Officers removed their helmets and returned to their desks in the wood and tin workspace, about the width of three trailers. From there they resumed managing the movement of equipment, munitions and personnel across the Middle East. About 30 minutes later, "everything shook," one soldier told CBS News. "And it's something like what you see in the movies. Your ears are ringing. Everything's fuzzy. Your vision is blurry. You're dizzy. There's dust and smoke everywhere."  Dazed, the service member surveyed a grisly scene: "Head wounds, heavy bleeding, lots of perforated eardrums, and then just shrapnel all over, so folks are bleeding from their abdomen, bleeding from arms, bleeding from legs."

Yep, I like this phrase "something like what you see in the movies"--correct, it is very symptomatic, because the US Army doesn't know what is a precise fire impact of stand-off weapons. Of course, even in Iraq or Afghanistan you still could have been hit by RPG while in Humvee or even experience a nasty IED, that did happen many times, but this is different. Shahed, the Iranian drone can carry anywhere between 50 and 90 kilos of high explosives.  It has the range of up to 2,500 kilometers and fully fits the criteria of a high precision stand-off weapon. It can pay visits in salvos, and often does and the results of that are not what Pentagon tries to spin ... away from the real story. 

Word of Hegseth's description of the events at a press conference in Washington did not sit well with some of the survivors. The secretary had described the drone as a "squirter" that "happened to hit a tactical operations center that was fortified, but these are powerful weapons." And while several of those familiar with the events on the ground did not agree with the description, they did not want their remarks to be misconstrued. "It's not my intent to diminish morale or to disparage the Army or the Department of War more holistically, but I do think that telling the truth is important and we're not going to learn from these mistakes if we pretend these mistakes didn't happen," one soldier said.

I have news for this brave soldier--Pentagon doesn't learn, it cannot, look at the SMO. It is a different kind of war, which no US servicemen ever experienced, they did now. And that brings us to a purely technical issue:

Asked if the attack was an inherent reality of engaging in combat, he agreed. "That's true," he said. Asked if this attack was preventable, the soldier added: "In my opinion, absolutely, yes." "I am very sad for their loss and it's something I'll carry with me for the rest of my life," he said. "But I'm also immensely proud of them and their sacrifice, and their family should be too."

1. The US has no air defense means to deal with one of this threats. Shaheds will continue to fly and will continue, together with ballistic and cruise missiles, take out anything they deem necessary. The US WILL NOT ask Russia and Russia WILL NOT agree to sell to Pentagon things it doesn't have and will not have any time soon, I list a few: Elka, Tunguska, S1 Pantsir, Tor M2, Buk M3 et al. No, it was not "preventable". 

2. Poor men who got killed. Their sacrifice was for Israel and not for the US Constitution and American people. Only part of American people but their loyalty is with Israel. 

Per Hegseth, something tells me he soon will be fired and maybe even more. Die you today for me to live and die tomorrow. That's Trump's MO.  

Invocation of Christ's Name Does Not Make One ...

 ... a Christian. Pete Hegseth is not a Christian, neither are followers of the fanatical heresy of Scofield Bible, who are anything but Christians. It is a death cult of uneducated uncultured fanatics.

But without naming Mr. Hegseth, he has also pointed out the ways in which Christianity has been marshaled for purposes that the pope says do not align with Catholic teaching.

Correct. Pete Hegseth and his ilk are loyal to Israel only and and that's what Pittie is promoting. He wants "salvation" through killing, as do most of the so called "Christian" Zionists infesting D.C. They are Israelites in a modern, contemporary sense and that's how the US lost its sovereignty. 

Now, Pittie, who thinks that he knows war (he doesn't) and has background in it is facing humiliation which kinda doesn't fit his concept of fighting evil and then restoring the Third Temple. Because "goodness" in his feeble mind should be winning against "evil", but this "evil" for some unknown operational and technological reasons Pittie cannot understand (he has a degree in "politics" and deployed to Afghanistan through militarily fraudulent ROTC commission) beats the shit out of Pittie's beloved Israel and hands the US military its ass elsewhere. 

Yes, they will stay--they are morons and cowards who are so afraid of death that they attached their salvation to a terrorist fascist entity in real world and vowed their loyalty to it, viewing their own country only as a sacrificial lamb at the altar of insane inhuman ideology dressing itself as Christianity.

Why "Potential"?

NATO in general and the US in particular established itself as an aggressor and is known to not shy away from atrocity when it suites it. 

Does General Randy Manner want to tell us that Kellogs, Keanes and likes, who are plenty to go around, are exceptions? Boy, he should wait for Ukraine War Crimes Tribunal going public once SMO is over. I can remind the general about this guy:

And yes, the US is still providing recon and targeting to 404 terrorists, while hiding behind their backs. Russia is now doing her own "hiding".

US wins against Russian and Chinese air defenses in other countries risk teaching the wrong lessons. US forces that executed a raid in Venezuela to capture its now-former leader walked away with no aircraft lost to the country's Russian-made air-defense systems and Chinese-made radars. In the aftermath, US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth said that it "seems those Russian air defenses didn't quite work so well, did they?" He didn't elaborate any further, but in briefings, the top US general spoke about how US forces dismantled and destroyed enemy air defenses. While the US can draw a certain degree of confidence in its capabilities from the success of the mission, there's a risk of reading too much into that success, especially when it comes to weapons made by American rivals in the hands of other militaries. Some of the failures of the Venezuelan-operated foreign air defenses, for example, have been attributed to issues like inactivity, incompetence, and a dearth of functional cohesion between different systems.

Some? You mean Venezuelan military being corrupt and bought out and thus disabling air defense?  WOW! There is a reason why Russia was wrapping up her presence in Venezuela in a duration of the last five years or so. I know, many people from Latin America are afraid of facing reality, but it was exposed in Venezuela and how it gladly sold its President to the US. Moreover, Pete Hegseth with his basic education in "Politics", whatever that means, and ROTC (a euphemism for pseudo-military "training") wouldn't know a first thing about Air Defense, nor will understand it due to a complete lack of an academic and experience tool kit for that. 

Having said all that, people with a much broader (still amateurish) grasp of technological realities in Pentagon (yes, there are still some there) put their input into the 2026 National Defense Strategy and tacitly admitted what I was warning about for the last almost two decades. 

Russia will remain a persistent but manageable threat to NATO’s eastern members for the foreseeable future. Indeed, although Russia suffers from a variety of demographic and economic difficulties, its ongoing war in Ukraine shows that it still retains deep reservoirs of military and industrial power. Russia has also shown that it has the national resolve required to sustain a protracted war in its near abroad. In addition, although the Russian military threat is primarily focused on Eastern Europe, Russia also possesses the world’s largest nuclear arsenal, which it continues to modernize and diversify, as well as undersea, space, and cyber capabilities that it could employ against the U.S. Homeland.

But even here, the atrocious level of incompetence in the US military and intel circles shines through:

Fortunately, our NATO allies are substantially more powerful than Russia—it is not even close. Germany’s economy alone dwarfs that of Russia.

You cannot fix stupid and that is why US loses all of its wars and will continue to do so because it learns nothing and American military institutions do not provide advanced military education for the XXI century other than Hollywood mode representation of the warfare. So, they cope, they lie to themselves, they lie to the world because they have no guts to admit that the "finest fighting force in history" would crumble in real war within a few weeks and will immediately escalate to the nuclear threshold. I know, it hurts. But today, in Russia, it is a Day of General Staff. 

It was established by the Order of Catherine the Great in 1763 based on the Quartermaster Office of Russian Army established by Peter the Great in 1711. The US will try to emulate it, it will continuously fail--there is no staff and national and military culture which exists in the US capable to support that--US "operations" in 404 exposed what kind of delusion the US military lives in. Nor will the issue of procurement be fixed because you have to have a system in place which the US doesn't have. Just to demonstrate how Russia's General Staff and Russian economy won the arms race. 

Here is comparison of Sarmat and Minuteman III. Yes, hypersonic weapons (such as Avangard), unlimited range and almost 10 times larger payload. But I am sure Germany can replicate it, after all its economy "dwarfs" Russia's. Good luck and cope harder.

But the BS continues, to paint the picture of utter invincibility of something which never really fought. It is of interest, in this case, to elaborate on Pete Hegseth's totally expected statement to the effect that the US must have the strongest force in the world--he must say things like that. Needless to say, to elaborate on this issue as well as to explain why it is impossible may require a rather thick book, half of which will be bibliography and references, the other half--REAL military history and data related to operations from WW II to today. The US will, of course, remain the strongest Army in Americas and will continue to have a formidable Navy with nuclear deterrent increasingly moving to submarines (granted USS Columbia will come out without already significant troubles).

But other than that, especially considering the experience of the SMO--the largest continental war since 1945--which is already being summarized and generalized, we need to clearly understand that technological dimension of modern war changed so dramatically (in fact--revolutionary way), that, as I state ad nauseam, it is almost impossible to relate the US Armed Force TOE and experiences to it, other than discard wholesale the whole idea behind US military in the XX century. Per XXI century, well ... long long story. Pentagon is not ready for this, but its children will love it (c)
