Combat Capability is a REALIZED Combat Potential. Once qualitative measure is introduced, the whole NATO (US included) looks rather pale in comparison. To put it mildly. I see no point for Russia to have any meaningful relations with Germany (Europe as a whole) because this nation is an enemy of Russia and Russian people. Germany must be kept aware that if it does something stupid Russia can finish it off even without nukes. And yes--I am sick and tired hearing about successes of AfD. It changes nothing and AfD is a primarily former GDR's political power. Western Germans will go again and elect imbeciles and Nazis. Germany made her choice. So did Russia.

Germany's decision on the Russian consulate in Bonn and the Russian House in Berlin jeopardized the work of at least the German diplomatic mission in St. Petersburg and the Goethe Institute, Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko said on the sidelines of the EEF. "Not only," Grushko said, answering the question whether Germany has created a threat to the work of its Consulate General and the Goethe Institute. He noted that Germany has embarked on the path of escalation, and did not rule out lowering the level of diplomatic relations with this country. Grushko said that a complete break in diplomatic relations with Berlin is not currently being considered, but there are no limits to degradation in this area.

Not just "elites", German people as a whole are enemies of Russia. Anecdotal evidence to the contrary is just that, anecdotal.
