I Told You So.

Russia breaking the blockade around North Korea will accelerate the process. Already did.

Under Kim Jong-un, North Korea is experiencing a "boom" – new shopping centers, resorts, and stores are opening across the country, and the authorities are encouraging consumption, according to Reuters. Over the past decade, imports of massage equipment from China have increased 40-fold, while supplies of treadmills have increased by more than 600%. The country is also importing pianos and amusement park rides with bumper cars. According to Reuters, this consumer boom is affecting shopping centers, beach resorts, and ski resorts throughout North Korea.

Forestalling possible objections from people who love Juche ideas from afar--there is nothing wrong with consumption when it is in moderation. There is nothing wrong in cappuccinos, decent cars or air conditioners, same goes for nice clothes and the choice of meats. For the country which survived horrors of famine in 2000s this is not only good, it is healthy. Now that Russia broke the blockade things accelerate dramatically. Good for N. Koreans, long time coming.
