Israel has enjoyed an undeserved reputation as an exceptional military power. The reality of Israel’s military readiness is being exposed as it struggles to gain control of Gaza. Israel is relying on its air force to carry out relentless bombing of civilian areas while its ground forces are meeting stiff resistance from Palestinian fighters. Israel’s big problem is that it relies heavily on reserve forces. Please take a look at the ages and ranks of some recent Israeli Occupation Force soldiers killed in action in Gaza. It is quite revealing:

This is what I call an exemplary military-political analysis. Simply top-notch.

As I analyze the two wars underway, my practice is to look for similarities and disparities. I want to suggest that the war in Ukraine provides a benchmark for evaluating what is unfolding in Gaza. Let me start with civilian casualties because I believe that is a critical variable that is going to work in favor of Palestinians and against Israel. The ubiquity of social media around the world makes it very difficult to obfuscate what is taking place on the ground in the two wars. Since the start of the Special Military Operation in Ukraine, Western intelligence has been working with Kiev to push social narratives portraying Russia as a gross violator of human rights. The “massacre” in Bucha last year is a case in point. Ukraine and the West repeatedly have accused Russia of bombing schools and hospitals and showing no regard for civilian casualties. One big problem, however. We have never seen a flood of images and videos like those coming out of Gaza showing the mangled bodies of children, women and elderly. Is anyone prepared to argue that Russia has been purging these images taken on territory controlled by Ukraine? The facts don’t support that position.

Leave it to the Iranians to allow an actual televised debate about Ukraine. I accepted an invitation to appear on Press TV, which is Iran’s version of Voice of America, unaware that Andrij Dobriansky, Director of the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America, would be appearing opposite me. That was a pleasant surprise. In contrast to CNN, MSNBC, Fox News and the BBC, the producers for this Press TV program did not do a pre-interview to determine what I was going to say. Go figure — an Iranian-funded television program that does not require one to pledge allegiance to the views of the Iranian Government.There was a time in the United States when you could see an exchange like the following on most of the cable and network stations. Not anymore. Can those of you who watch American TV news remember the last time you saw someone opposed to the U.S. policy in Ukraine allowed to debate the issue? Doug MacGregor used to get an occasional interview with Tucker, but that ended when Tucker was fired. I will apologize in advance for not tolerating patiently the lies spewed by Mr. Dobriansky. My Irish ancestry got the better of me.

Great Points From Larry.

Indeed, it takes two to tango and Russia really doesn't care about Washington's desires. 

Ukraine’s offensive or counter offensive is running into big problems and my friend, Mr. Stephen Bryen, writes the following:

There appears to be a potential big development in Ukraine focused on a negotiated deal with Russia. Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov said that “Ukraine is ready for negotiations and a peace agreement if Russia changes the previously declared goals of the Special Military Operation.”

Is this genuine? Maybe. However, I think it reflects the Ukrainian point of view and fails to take into account the Russian perspective. With the Ukrainian counter offensive entering its 7th day I do not see any viable path for agreement between Ukraine and Russia. Ukraine’s policy, until now, is virulently anti-Russian. Besides prohibiting people from speaking Russian, the Ukrainian policy has focused on eliminating every last vestige of Russian culture and history in Ukraine. Can Ukraine really hit the brakes and throw their policy machine into reverse and suddenly say, ‘Never mind?” I doubt it.

While the Western media persists in perpetuating the fantasy that Russia is suffering setbacks and looking for a way to extricate itself from the war in Ukraine, the facts on the ground show that Russia is inflicting massive casualties on Ukraine — both men and materiel — and that Russia is under no pressure to seek an end to the conflict. Nothing short of unconditional surrender will placate Russia.

As was stated many times now--there will be no "freezing" of the conflict, it is now a will of Russian people, overwhelming majority of them, to finish off 404 and Kiev regime and push NATO back to where it belongs--dust bin of history. Read the whole thing at Larry's blog.

Excellent piece.  

I am fascinated by the misinformation and deception being spread via social media channels about famed-Russian Chef, Evgeny Prigozhin, and his mythical military prowess. The latest example of this comes courtesy of Jeff Bezos’ Washington Post:

Wagner chief offered to give Russian troop locations to Ukraine, leak says

THE DISCORD LEAKS | Yevgeniy Prigozhin said he would tell Ukraine’s military where to attack Russian troops if they pulled their own forces back from the beleaguered city of Bakhmut, where Wagner mercenaries were taking heavy losses

If there was ever any doubt that the so-called “Discord Leaks”, allegedly the handiwork of a lowly U.S. Air Force grunt, are a controlled leak that is part of an information operation, this latest wowzer should erase any skepticism.

Add here this peculiar fact: Mr. Utkin whose call signs is, and you may have guessed it, "Wagner", and who actually is the real founder of the group left it. Make your own conclusions. Read the whole piece at Larry's blog.
