I Really Have Difficulty ...

 ... grasping this. Always had.

It is just the game. Congrats, of course, to Seahawks, but sports event and air force? I totally get when, say, Blue Angels fly over graduation ceremony of US Naval Academy--totally appropriate and beautiful, but this. This is--total kitsch militarism for hoi polloi which should be reserved for MILITARY parades. Not the likes, of course, Donnie organized recently, but in general--there is nothing wrong with periodic demonstration of military hardware within appropriate setup. Bread and Circuses. I am not against sports, but this ...

Per Lavrov today--some really special verbiage and indication that Russians never trusted Trump. First, the frontline and 404 power generating facilities are testimony to this fact, and events on the frontline, of course.

US Former "Intelligence" ...

... officials who wouldn't know shit from shinola.

With Trump and his deputies echoing some of Russia’s talking points about the Ukraine war and indicating they hope to expand U.S. relations with Moscow, former intelligence officials say the administration may even share some sensitive information with Moscow. Several former U.S. intelligence officers said they and their colleagues still in government are deeply concerned about the possible implications of the administration’s shift toward Russia, in which Moscow may no longer be treated as an adversary. “People are very worried,” a former intelligence official said.

As always, there are no names of those "officials", because the only thing those "officials" can do is to fail at their intelligence tasks, among which is the proper assessment of the world outside. And yes, they should worry, especially if they have been associated with DNC and subversion of the US Constitution--the only thing they are capable of. I am not exaggerating--the so called American "expertise" in critical aspects of the global balance of power and practical geopolitics is laughable. In this sense the post-Cold War 1.0 US approach to "intelligence" has very little to do with real intelligence and its main task of collecting information and analyzing it to turn it into knowledge. Forget about it--we are seeing in the so called "intelligence" and "expert" community same ol' Mencken's "Morons with Ph.Ds", or collection of credentialed cretins.

In other "news", people ask me (yes, they send messages all the time), whenever hearing any kind of ambiguous statements from some Russian officials (such as Russia's Ambassador to the UK), if some or the other phrase or word are indications of Russians "surrendering" or compromising. I can only repeat same thing--SMO continues, there will be no "freezing" and there will be no "peacekeepers". Here is Lavrov himself (during pressy with Zimbabwe's FM today) explaining, yet again--in Russian only, sadly--that all this talk is just BS.

I cannot repeat this constantly, but it seems that I must.

Aww, Poor Babies.

The moment Lavrov states (yesterday) that if NATO wants to decide issue on the battlefield, so be it, Russia is ready, Europeans suddenly begin to backtrack and... lying as usual.

Translation: BRUSSELS, May 13. /TASS/. The European Commission considers statements that the European Union wants victory in Ukraine on the battlefield to be disinformation, despite the fact that this phrase was previously written by the head of the EU diplomatic service, Josep Borrell. This was stated by EU Foreign Service Representative Peter Stano at a briefing in Brussels. Commenting at the request of journalists on the phrase of Sergei Lavrov, whom Russian President Vladimir Putin proposed to reappoint as head of the Foreign Ministry, that if the West “want [a solution to the conflict in Ukraine] on the battlefield, then it will be on the battlefield,” Stano considered it “ misinformation and distortion of reality." In turn, the head of the press service of the European Commission, Eric Mamer, called the same question from journalists incorrect. "The European Union is not on the battlefield. It is Russia that wants victory on the battlefield. Asking us about this, excuse me, means ignoring everything we have said on this topic before," he argued. He also said that the European Union is "an organization based on a philosophy of peace." Borrell was the first European official to say that the conflict in Ukraine “must be won on the battlefield.” He wrote about this on April 9, 2022 on X (formerly Twitter) after a visit to Ukraine in the company of the head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen. From that moment on, this phrase was constantly repeated throughout 2022 and the first half of 2023 by many European politicians, and then disappeared from the vocabulary of European officials. This roughly coincided with the defeat of the so-called Ukrainian offensive last summer.

Well, we knew that European elite are lying sacks of shit, all of them:

EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell, during a visit to Ukraine on April 8 and 9, received from her a list of weapons, the supply of which he intends to discuss with the EU Military Committee. Borrell plans to convene the committee in the coming days, he said in an interview with Corriere della Sera. According to the head of EU diplomacy, Ukraine needs to provide what it needs. The delivery of weapons must be accelerated, as they are critical in the outcome of the conflict. Borrell had previously posted on social media that the war must be won on the battlefield, 360tv reports.

But now we also know that they are cowards and supporters of terrorism. Thanks to internet it is difficult to cover up own tracks even if for brainwashed Western public.

A-ha Moment!

Naryshkin, Director of SVR never says anything "just because".

Translation: MOSCOW, May 11 – RIA Novosti. The head of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service, Sergei Naryshkin, did not rule out contacts with the CIA director in the near future. “It cannot be ruled out,” he said, answering a corresponding question for the program “Moscow. Kremlin. Putin,” a fragment of which was published by Pavel Zarubin on his Telegram channel. Naryshkin and CIA Director William Burns held personal talks in Ankara in November 2022. In January, in an interview with RIA Novosti, the head of the SVR noted the benefits of contacts between the intelligence services. He explained that such dialogue can prevent dangerous events in conditions where the situation in the world may reach a very risky point. At the same time, Naryshkin emphasized that he and Burns had reached a mutual agreement not to allow leaks about the negotiations between them.

As I repeat ad nauseam--Russia will talk only with the US. EU is irrelevant here. The contacts, in this case, will be initially through intelligence orgs of Russia and the US. US desperately needs some sort of arrangements which may give it a sort of off-ramp, albeit even this is too late. But against the background of action on Kharkov axis, which is most likely one of several offensives along the whole frontline, the US finally figured out that it doesn't matter what she or her euro-chihuahuas do, the outcome is going to be the same--merely resign to reality and listen to conditions Russia will impose. VSU is currently on the run in Kharkov area, but most likely the objective is to move frontline further South-West. Nobody is going to be taking Kharkov--it will fall itself as a ripe fruit falls from the tree. Keep an eye on the South, towards Odessa.

Per Mishustin's Cabinet--practically same team. Per Defense, Foreign, Internal, Justice and Emercom  Ministers and Director of FSB--these positions are prerogative of the President and he appoints those after consultations with Federation Council which will start on 13th. Now, poor Lavrov, he is like, Vladimir Vladimirovich, please, pretty pretty please, I am 74 and want to retire because I cannot stand those imbeciles from EU. We'll see about that. Lavrov is indispensable--a towering figure in world's diplomacy. Albeit Nebenzya or Ryabkov can fit the bill.

What I Disagree About...

... with Mr. Bhadrakumar. In his latest he writes:

Kremlin’s hope that US support for Ukraine is on the wane seems misplaced. Curiously, spokesman Dmitry Peskov added in good measure in an interview on Friday with broadcaster NBC News that Putin would prefer an American president who is “more constructive” toward Russia and understands the “importance of the dialogue” between the two countries. Peskov added that Putin would be ready to work with “anyone who will understand that from now on, you have to be more careful with Russia and you have to take into account its concerns.”

Well, here is where I have to strongly disagree. There is NO "hope" in Kremlin on the support waning. In fact, Kremlin doesn't operate on hopes or wishful thinking because it is not in Kremlin's nature since 2013-14 to hope for anything. The way Russia met the challenge of initially non-stop sanctions and then proceeded to demolish not just VSU but combined West's aid is this proverbial proof which is in the pudding. Tomorrow I will be talking about Mr. Lavrov's recollection of his meeting with the US political "scientists" and the discussion of the US grand "strategy", or whatever passes for it among illiterate US establishment--Russia is not hoping, she simply turned on the "turbo" mode and continues to increase military production. That is the first indicator of Russia having no hopes or, for that matter, illusions about combined West.

This, however, cannot obscure the fact that money for Kiev regime in and of itself means absolutely nothing in terms of operational realities on the battlefield, because the West headed by the US simply has no military-industrial resources to supply Kiev with any meaningful quantities of anything, let alone of required quality. And the hypothetical increase in military production cannot happen overnight--it will take years to build military-industrial base in the US (Europe is a joke militarily) and this ONLY if one considers that the US can close the technological gap with Russia in critical weapons. But it cannot--the technological gap continues to widen and it is doubtful that the US will now catch up in such critical areas as air defense, hypersonic weapons, air force technology and strategic nuclear weapons, to name a few. This is not to mention the fact that the US cannot produce main battle tank anymore and can supply only kits or older versions of Abrams tanks. So, those $61 billion will go for sustaining the political regime in Kiev and its basic governing functions, and laundering money for DNC and Biden family.

But most importantly--no amount amount of money can buy the US a competent top brass which constantly sustains its military skills through extremely tough academic institutions and field experience with no parallels in the 21st century--SMO that is. As was stated before and I will repeat it: Shoigu and Gerasimov are not in rush because they are building and shaping the force which will define the warfare (already is doing so) for the next 30-40 years, including through introduction of C4ISR level and weaponry which now is simply out of reach of the combined West. So, Russia doesn't hope but does what any normal operational level commander does--puts oneself (and his formation) in a deliberately disadvantageous position and then plans from it. Yesterday Russia celebrated RVSN Day (the day of the strategic missile forces)--a new regiment with Avangard system has been put into service.

Whoops!

Denis Manturov, the head of Minpromtorg, finally explained to TASS those "issues" with CR-929 and they expose, quite well, reasons why I am always stand-offish whenever I speak about joint projects with China. This "insight" explains it very well.

Translation: - Returning to the topic of international cooperation, what is happening with the joint project of Russia and China to create a long-haul wide-body airliner CR929?

 - I think we will hold regular negotiations in the first quarter of next year, and reach clear prospects and deadlines. But our Chinese colleagues today have applications for participation in this project from various manufacturers of components from third countries. We do not consider such a format for ourselves, given the current situation and all the risks that we understand very well. Therefore, in order not to encounter them, we may make a decision for ourselves from a partner within the framework of this project to move into the status of a supplier of aggregates and components.

In other words, geopolitical aims, and whenever speaking about aerospace we need to keep in mind that it is an industry of global importance, of Russia and China diverge here, and diverge seriously. Russia is pursuing, quite successfully, an autarkic model in strategic industries, China does not and the trend in Chinese commercial aerospace is very clear. I already presented here the composition of Chinese C-919 and wrote about it recently. Remember?

I cannot emphasize enough when speaking about aerospace that China, for all her great economic achievements, is STILL not in the premier league of the aerospace and, as an example, nuclear submarines, among few other sectors. China builds her commercial aerospace with the sight on the West's markets, thinking, very wrongly, that practically all-Western aircraft produced in China, such as C-919, or even joint CR-929 containing a truck-load of Western-made systems, will somehow grant China the entrance to Western market or the markets elsewhere. In this case China sets herself for failure, because commercial aerospace market doesn't work like this.

Manturov is correct, that if China decides to go this way, Russia must simply withdraw as a partner from this project and contract herself as a supplier. It will release Russia's resources for development of her domestic wide-body aircraft which, most likely, will be redesigned and re-motorized to two PD-35s iteration of an excellent IL-96. Never again will Russia depend on the combined West for anything, especially in such critical industrial field as commercial aerospace. In combat aviation Russia remains one of the two leaders in the world, and, as today's events showed, Russia increases production of SU-57s and today a new batch has been delivered to Russian Air Force (in Russian).

As Lavrov stated today--the US informed Russia through diplomatic channels that they do not want to fight Russia directly. Sure, who would, but the US thinks it can exhaust Russia. Naive and uneducated people they are in D.C. Not very bright, because they didn't study real economy and war. Same goes for Brussels. But I repeat myself.

The Endspiel.

This, in chess, is called "the end game". Primarily in chess, in other sports and war they use this term too.

The Islamic Republic of Iran has officially submitted its application to join the group of five emerging economies made up of Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, the foreign ministry in Tehran announced on Monday. The move comes after the Iranian president addressed the BRICS summit last week. While BRICS is not a treaty bloc, it has a “very creative mechanism with broad aspects,” Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh said on Monday, according to the Tasnim news agency. He added that Tehran has already had “a series of consultations” with BRICS about the application. Iran’s membership would “add value” for everyone involved, said Khatibzadeh, noting that BRICS members account for up to 30% of the world’s GDP and 40% of the global population.

The isolation of the West continues, hence desperate (and stupid, I may add) attempts to "blockade"  Kaliningrad, which will cost Lithuania her economy and no, Russia will not "follow" the US plan to start a war in Europe to allow the US repeat its saving from catastrophe on the eve of the WW II, which DID save the US. Washington's primitive historic and geopolitical thinking is so transparent that Russia had very little problem anticipating West's behavior. Here is one example out of many.

Here is Marshal Rokossovsky ferry. She is a very respectable vessel of 12,000 tons dead weight and she is already servicing the route Ust-Luga--Kaliningrad. Her sister-ship Marshal Chernyahovsky is undergoing sea trials as I type this. Both ferries are designed in St. Petersburg but were constructed at Turkish shipyard Kuzey Star, because Russian shipyards are simply too busy. More vessels of similar class are getting ready to join this route which is already serviced (IIRC--please check yourself) by other 9 vessels.

Will NATO fleets dare to interdict this SLOC? Do not put it past desperate Washington, but then again, they will have to consider Russia's Baltic Fleet and those pesky Kinzhals, Zircons and Onixes with Kalibers, which can sink any combination of NATO navies not only within Baltic Sea but in their respective bases. The argument that this way of supplying Kaliningrad is more expensive than by rail is absolutely invalid. Yes, it is more expensive--but Russia will subsidize and she is awash in cash, in fact many in Russia do not want such a strong Ruble too--but it is more expensive for the peace time, it is not a peace time and this mode of supplying the Kaliningrad exclave works just fine.

And, of course, Argentina applying to BRICS and Bolsonaro being on the phone with Putin constantly gives a hint that Russia doesn't view American "sphere of interest" as untouchable. It is the end game for the United States and its lapdogs from EU. So much so that this proverbial fantastical thinking begins to dominate everything in the West.

The idea of putting a price cap on Russian oil exports in order to keep the oil flowing but reduce the Kremlin's revenues from it might sound rather exotic at first glance—but the idea has been around for a few weeks now. It did just get a major push at the G7 meeting that began last weekend, but the challenges to its implementation are quite substantial. An oil price cap for Russian crude was first floated during talks between U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen and EU officials on finding a solution for the inflation problem while limiting Russian oil revenues. It quickly became clear that limiting Russian oil exports was not the best idea. The United States, the UK, and, more recently, the EU, have all imposed bans on the imports of Russian oil and oil products, but China and India have stepped up their purchases as Russian crude trades at a sharp discount to the international benchmark. The EU, meanwhile, is buying up Russian fuels ahead of the embargo that will come into effect at the end of the year.

You know what I am doing with these so called "policies"? Right, I declare myself a Superman and then call on Sergei Victorovich Lavrov to give a short summary of the situation with Western "elites".

For those who are new to my blog, this is Lavrov at press-conference with Saudi foreign minister a few years back, where he reacts to this minister's statement by whispering--Дебилы, блядь--Imbeciles, fuck. Applies fully to the West. In fact, even more so.

You All Know What It Means.

 Just in:

The city of San Francisco will launch a bold initiative to curb gun violence: paying “high risk” individuals to put the guns down and become more productive members of society. San Francisco will launch the ‘Dream Keeper Fellowship’ as a pilot program in October, the San Francisco Examiner reported on Tuesday. Behind the whimsical name, the idea is simple: people “who authorities believe are most at risk of shooting someone” will be offered $300 per month to meet with “life coaches” instead, and to talk other “high risk” individuals out of committing gun crimes. This monthly stipend increases to $500 as these individuals complete tasks, like meeting with mentors and applying for jobs.
What can I say.
Lavrov said it already and you all know what he said at this moment.

I Am Lying, Therefore I Am Living(c).

US' MO, ranging from government to media, is lying . Here is yet another, latest, example.

HELSINKI — The top U.S. negotiator in nuclear arms control talks with Russia held in Helsinki says a one-day follow-up meeting to earlier talks in Austria has yielded “important progress.” Ambassador Marshall Billingslea, President Donald Trump’s special envoy for arms control, gave the upbeat view in a tweet Tuesday, a day after the talks in the Finnish capital with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov. He gave no further detail.

Russians like, WTF, dude...

"Действительно, пока повода для оптимизма практически нет. Наш замминистра иностранных дел [Сергей] Рябков продолжает контакты со своими визави американскими. Нам хотелось бы, чтобы результативность этих контактов была выше, значительно. Здесь есть большие резервы"

Translation: Indeed, there is practically no reason for optimism. Our Deputy Foreign Minister Ryabkov continues his contacts with Americans. We would like to see the effectiveness of these contacts to be higher, considerably higher. There is a big potential (reserves) here.

Ryabkov himself stated that he doesn't know: "based on what does American side make statements on soon to be achieved agreement on arms control?"  Lie, it seems, permeates whole American political, cultural, media, scientific, economic, foreign policy discourse. American politicians, journalists, "scientists", analysts, diplomats, military lie non-stop, about everything, under any circumstances. They lie, only to have their their lies debunked immediately, to their faces, but they continue to lie, looking into the eyes of people who know absolutely that they are being lied to. There is nothing real left in America anymore, everything is an illusion, a pretense of a functioning society, economy, political establishment. And everybody lies, including "scientists" (as was demonstrated in my post yesterday). It is bizarre, it is worse than in USSR, it begins to approach levels of brainwashing of Maoist China or North Korea.

I said it many times, I will repeat again, Russia IS NOT negotiating those "ineffective", "improbable", "non-existent" weapon systems which the United States desperately tries to get its hands on. Russia (USSR) trusted the West in late 1980s only to be lied to and cheated. Russians are good students. The United States is non-agreement capable, Marshal Billingslea is laughed at in Russia as if being a clown (clown craft requires better skills than those of US "diplomats"). The next step, after October 18, a formal expiration of UN arms embargo on Iran:

In an interview with Iran’s Resalat newspaper on Sunday, Russia’s ambassador to the country, Levan Jagarian, affirmed that he would have “no problem” selling the air defense systems as soon as the United Nations arms embargo on Iran expires Oct. 18.

It seems the decision has been made in Kremlin, since Jagarian's statement is merely a corroboration of what Lavrov stated earlier this week that once arms embargo expires on 18th, well, it will not be just S-400. Of course, SU-30SM(2) are on the shopping list as well as such items as russified SSJ-100 New, and other items which Iran desperately needs. As I already stated, Russia doesn't give a flying fvck anymore about West's "sanctions", as I said earlier, look at how Russia decouples from Europe. There is very little to discuss with combined West. You simply do not talk to BSers and, yes, nobody really gives a shit what Israel thinks. She was given a "good deal" by Russia, but, as I always say--Russia is not there to save people from themselves. Israel put her bets on the US, helped to corrupt and subvert American political discourse and modified US foreign policy from being simply bad into one unmitigated disaster, so, she kind of had it coming for Tel-Aviv, or Jerusalem or what have you. Let them enjoy. As for American politicians and diplomats, as good ol' saying goes: you see their lips (or Twitter) moving, this is how you know they are lying. Rephrasing famous Descartes' dictum: I am lying, therefore I am living.

The Hell You Say!

Finally, even steadily degenerating Vzglyad gets it. In today's article about spying, by the West, inside Russia's "elites"--I assume that to be the case, everybody spies on everybody--the author comes to the conclusion:
Не менее актуальна сейчас и проблема чисто политического шпионажа. В Вашингтоне даже не пытаются скрывать, что практически все оценки и прогнозы в отношении России строятся на 90% из информации, полученной из конфиденциальных источников. Это университетские think-tank опираются на тенденциозные оценки политэмигрантов и представителей «внутренней эмиграции», отчего все эти доклады порой так весело выглядят.
Translation: No less acute now is the problem of purely political espionage. Washington does not even try to hide the fact that practically all assessments and forecasts about Russia are 90% based on information from confidential sources. These university think-tanks use biased assessments by political immigrants and the representatives of the so called "internal immigration" (euphemism for Russia's liberasts, people with fair faces and so called "nationalists") , that is why those reports are often look so funny.

No, they are not "funny" in the end, despite hilarious stupidity and ignorance of people who write those. Well, I am screaming about the danger of this BS about Russia in the West for years now. It has nothing to do with political espionage, but everything with a permanent Chalabi moment for US elites whose lack of education, culture and awareness of the outside world, especially of Russia is clear and present danger for the world for a reason that many those people in D.C. have no clue about what they are dealing with and may run, due to their ignorance, into a very sorry situation for everybody. Here is one such example--the guy is a certified ignoramus, yet, look at him:

Russia is weak, contrary to popular belief

You may google "credentials" of this amateur easily and yes, degree in political "science", what else. This is the level of "expertise" of modern US "elites" and it is down right terrifying that modern Russia Studies field in the West is dominated with grievances and huge egos afflicted Russian (and Western) nobodies who convinced many in the US that Russia still resides in 1990s. While at it, my second book, which comes along fairly nicely, tries to finally deal with these "analysts" and other political "scientists" by providing a very real, tangible numerical tools for understanding the depth of ignorance and detachment from military and geopolitical reality by those self-proclaimed "experts". Either Washington begins to live in reality or it may end up really bad for everyone involved. Good that even such increasingly reminiscent of the sewer Vzglyad at least gets it.

UPDATE: Lavrov is explicit about "quality" of American "elite". I know, I am writing about this for years now.

Timber Sycamore No More.

Scott Ritter published today an outstanding piece in The American Conservative about CIA's dirty dealings with ME "clients" and their jihadist offsprings. Ritter's piece is an excellent illustration to the level of insanity (Operation Timber Sycamore) which afflicts majority of American political class and it fits extremely well (not to mention partially explains) Russia's Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov's statement today. Lavrov, who served as the Russian envoy to the UN for 10 years, confessed he “could never imagine that US politicians may be exposed to this kind of mass hysteria.”

Well, neither could I, but here we are. But Lavrov's comments went much much further than merely describing the insanity. He openly accused outgoing Obama Administration of sabotaging Russian-American relations.

“We inherited a bulk of problems, ‘time bombs’ and simply undermining decisions from the Obama administration,” Lavrov said. He added that those decisions had been made “in the period of agony when the outgoing administration …chose to do nasty things to undermine US-Russia relations in the first place.”
American political class degenerated to a collection of egocentric, spiteful, narcissist  and incompetent hacks long ago but it was on Obama's watch when the very fabric of American society began to be literally shredded to pieces--from destroying already fragile interracial relations, to closing eyes on real danger from jihadism, to supporting Islamic militants to deliberately wrecking US-Russian relations. Obama and his circle, of which HRC was a direct political and ideological globalist off-spring, were stunned by real America's vote in 2016 Presidential Elections and as spineless and spiteful self-centered children (most of them are about this level of maturity) they took their revenge by further wrecking what's little was left of US foreign policy. In this respect, Obama was an ultra-liberal reincarnation of W. Moreover, he went even further.

Looking today at a pathetic exhibit which US political class has become, one has to appreciate the fact that President Trump, for all his massive and easily-visible flaws, increasingly looks more and more as an American statesman whose feet are simply stuck in stinky, sticky rotten swamp of corrupt (and treasonous) American political establishment. This very swamp which can not produce anymore any real statesman, not speaking of simply decent human. US politics urgently needs adults--without them this nation is doomed.

Pepe Escobar About Revolution.

Once in a blue moon an indispensable book comes out making a clear case for sanity in what is now a post-MAD world. That’s the responsibility carried by “The (Real) Revolution in Military Affairs,” by Andrei Martyanov (Clarity Press), arguably the most important book of 2019.

Saker's Review.
The above summary does not do justice to Martyanov’s truly seminal book. I can only say that I consider this book as an absolutely indispensable “must read” for every person in the USA who loves his/her country and for every person who believes that wars, especially nuclear ones, must be avoided at all costs.

Asia Times About The Book

Asia Times About The Book
In Losing Military Supremacy, his latest, groundbreaking book, crack Russian military-naval analyst Andrei Martyanov deconstructs in detail how, “the United States faces two nuclear and industrial superpowers, one of which fields a world-class armed forces. If the military-political, as opposed to merely economic, alliance between Russia and China is ever formalized – this will spell the final doom for the United States as a global power.”
