... the nature of war. Some people INSIDE the US military system did understand it but as a system the US military is not designed to fight a real war.
And then, there is this "teeny-weeny" factor of not a single US military man or woman ever fighting in defense of the United States. They simply have no cultural, psychological and spiritual "organ" which knows what that is. And yes, USAF with its confabulated history of "successes" against mighty Taliban Air Force or Iraqi so called "air defense" is not the pool of military professionals from which you can draw a person who can grasp the realities of modern warfare. Here I agree with Larry Wilkerson wholeheartedly.
