Scientists have created a composite to protect astronauts from radiation. The new material based on lanthanum hexaboride and aluminum-magnesium alloy is designed to replace expensive foreign analogues

Scientists from Russia have developed a composite material designed to protect astronauts and equipment from radiation in space. According to the press service of the Integrated Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences, its cost is much lower than foreign analogues. The new material is based on lanthanum hexaboride and aluminum-magnesium alloy using plasma sintering technology. It combines high mechanical strength and an effective ability to absorb ionizing radiation.

"NASA is working on a lightweight material based on boron nitride nanotubes, which can be embedded in the skin of ships and spacesuits. However, its production is extremely expensive - up to $ 1000 per gram. Our task is to create a composite 100-200 times cheaper, while maintaining the quality and effectiveness of radiation protection," explained Oleg Shichalin, head of the laboratory at Sakhalin State University. Specialists from KSC RAS, the Far Eastern Federal University and Sakhalin State University participated in the development. The created composite makes it possible to create multifunctional elements for spacecraft that simultaneously perform a load-bearing function and provide radiation protection, which contributes to the lightening of the structure.

Modern Western culture has become recognized as ugly in every sense of the word, from freak shows at the demonstration of fashions, to people looking increasingly dirty from tattoos covering their bodies, to the body positive movement extolling unhealthy and aesthetically repulsive lifestyles, to the rampant use of drugs. The modern West has lost the understanding of beauty. The late Roger Scruton warned: “Beauty is vanishing from our world because we live as though it did not matter.” It has almost completely vanished, pushed out by the post-modernist dystopia and perversion of the Western intelligentsia. As Dostoevsky wrote in The Idiot, “Beauty will save the world.” The West has lost the meaning of and desire for beauty, thus losing the tool for its own salvation, and the world has taken note.

His style is unique in that he does not concern himself with politics, but only with the analysis of warfare, in a calm and dispassionate manner. His analyses have never been anti-Ukrainian or pro-Russian, but objective. He has long seen a NATO defeat on the horizon, not based on his wishes, but on the facts on the long front and the war strategy and tactics of the various parties. This did not fit in at all with the Russophobic war cries of the EU, which still dreams of ultimate victory today, just like Adolf Hitler did in the spring of 1945.

I speak about it constantly--99% of "military experts" on YouTube, even the ones who do have some military backgrounds are there to merely monetize what little they know about serious military matters and subsist primarily on "analyzing" explosions, some "cool footage" and masturbating to military toys. here is a legitimate question (totally expected) from one of my supporters--make no mistake, I don't blame him and in fact praise him for asking me about it. I merely use it to demonstrate how important it is to question ANYTHING coming out of YouTube which is infested with cheap propagandists. Here is the question about recent attack in Novorossiysk.

I will repeat again--contemporary Europe has nothing to do with the European Civilization which by default IS Western Civilization, it is, in the end, the succession of nominal Romes, of which Vladimir Putin hinted--he couldn't say it openly, it would have given aneurism to DNC, Brussels and all kinds of cucks, who populate Europe today. Listen attentively, again starting at 35 minutes, to what is being said and what is being strongly implied:

I do share George's sentiment--I am a Western man, a European in civilizational sense. It is essentially my culture, because I am Russian and Russian culture intersects greatly with European culture, and I am not talking about arts only, I am talking about law and philosophy. 

But it is over. The United States provided Europe with additional 80-years long lease on life after the WW II which was strictly European idea. This lease is up. I spoke about some ideas of removing Italy from EU, singling her out as the birthplace (together with Greece) of the Western mind. 

Pepe wrote piece about Italy too. If the current, fragmented collective West would ever have a chance to be rescued from the Centaur of oblivion, that task must be carried out by the definitive, Western civilization-state: Pallas Athena Italia. 

Rome, Athens--cities which shaped human civilization for more than 2,000 years. But is there anything left to save? I don't know. I do feel for average English, Italian, French or German people, I do ... but it doesn't matter anymore because of the inexorable march of history.

4. In conclusion--comparing the advanced netcentric LO technology of SU-57 which boasts an unrivaled combat record in highly hostile environment compared to obsolete F-22 (Combat score--one Chinese air balloon) and a lame duck of overpriced piece of junk such as F-35--that's coping. Hard one. 

But in the end, it is impossible to explain to a listener of Dokken (he considers putting this on his CV as a merit, Good Lord, what am I going to do--put Alan Holdsworth on mine?) and ambitious nobody that the secret in any modern combat aircraft is in fact that it is a WEAPON SYSTEM and its weapons suite is what defines it, together with other tactical-technical characteristics. Here, where the USAF is left to merely observe--it doesn't have anything comparable to combat performed AAM R-37 missile (with a range of up to 400 kilometers) and upcoming new generation of AAM with the range of 500+ kilometers. Both missiles being genuinely hypersonic. But what do I know. Evidently lack of any military and engineering background of Mr. Kuss is considered to be proper qualifications in parroting butt-hurt propaganda. He should cope harder. Or watch Top Gun: Maverick.

But again, you cannot explain to MI6 or those graduates of the Defense Academy of the UK, that everything they know about warfare are primarily fairy tales. Term "sustained" coming from present day UK is down right funny, or maybe just preposterous. Especially against the background of the latest statements by Sergei Lavrov--about Europe blowing its chances--and then Alexei Miller explaining to Europe its future.  ... about Vladimir Putin's 2007 Munich speech and why he had reasons to warn West about the end of its, often grossly exaggerated, hegemony. This is the 2007 piece (in Russian) by Major General Vasilenko, then the Superintendent of the 4th Central Scientific-Research Institute of Russia's Defense Ministry. The article (at that time) was called Asymmetric Response but already then indicated a growing superiority of Russia's strategic nuclear deterrent. That was the time when the US toyed with the yet another iteration of SDI--a mostly money laundering machine. Get a load of this:

The achieved technologies and the created domestic radar-absorbing materials make it possible to reduce the radar signature of warheads in the extra-atmospheric section of the trajectory by several orders of magnitude. This is achieved by implementing a whole range of measures: optimizing the shape of the warhead hull - a sharp elongated cone with a rounded bottom; rational direction of separation of the block from the missile or the separation stage - in the direction of the toe to the radar station; the use of light and effective materials for radar-absorbing coatings applied to the unit body - their weight is 0.05-0.2 kg per m2 of the surface, and the reflection coefficient in the centimeter frequency range of 0.3-10 cm is no more than -23...-10 dB and better. There are materials with screen attenuation coefficients in the frequency range from 0.1 to 30 MHz: in terms of the magnetic component - 2...40 dB; for the electrical component - by less than 80 dB. In this case, the effective reflective surface of the warhead can be less than 10-4 m2, and the detection range can be no more than 100-200 km, which will not allow intercepting the unit with long-range interceptor missiles and significantly complicates the operation of medium-range interceptor missiles.

Mind you, this is 2007 but already then Russia had KSP PRO, literally--the Complex of Means of Overcoming Anti-Missile Defense--which was rendering the US AMD effectively useless because it wouldn't be able to fully track and develop firing solution at MIRVs. Today is 2025, the end of it, but attempts to create now a Golden Dome in the US are met in Russia with smile. Again, from 2007, the same piece: 

In this regard, another method and the corresponding means of counteraction come to the fore - small-sized atmospheric decoys with a working altitude of 2-5 km and a relative mass of 5-7% of the mass of the warhead. The implementation of this method becomes possible as a result of solving a two-fold task - a significant reduction in the visibility of the warhead and the development of qualitatively new atmospheric decoys of the "wavelet" class, with a corresponding reduction in their weight and dimensions. This will make it possible to install up to 15-20 effective atmospheric decoys instead of one warhead from the missile's multiple-warhead, which will lead to an increase in the probability of overcoming the atmospheric missile defense line to the level of 0.93-0.95. Thus, the overall probability of overcoming the 3 frontiers of a promising missile defense system, according to experts, will be 0.93-0.94.

Today, against the background of Russia's several breakthroughs in missile technologies, the probability of overcoming ANY layered missile defense, be it Golden or even Diamond Dome, is approaching 1 and, bar some possible malfunctions of a very few delivery systems, ensures an overwhelming and devastating response. This is some background of Vladimir Putin's 2007 Munich speech and explanation of futility of any AMD when one doesn't have technological capability for defense.

The research institutes MERI and NIITM, which are part of the Element Group of Companies, have completed the creation of the first cluster systems in Russia for plasma-chemical deposition (PCB) and etching (PCT). These installations will make it possible to produce integrated circuits according to 65 nm topological standards on wafers with a diameter of 200 mm and 300 mm. The institutes are among the five world leaders with competencies in the creation and production of such equipment. The main executor of the project was MERI, which provided the construction of clean production facilities, the installation and connection of prototypes of equipment, the development of technological processes and their testing. NIITM, in turn, became the main co-contractor, developing the equipment itself and taking part in the tests. Installations for the level of 65 nm on 300 mm wafers will provide, among other things, the long-term need for domestic microelectronics, said Vasily Shpak, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation. According to him, the modularity of the platform is of particular value, since it allows you to work out processes on existing equipment and serves as the basis for the transition to more subtle technological processes. Element explained that the equipment makes it possible to use the units both at existing and planned production facilities, where technological standards implemented on 200 mm wafers are used.

Shpak complained last month about "underfunding" of some of the programs to the order of 33 billion Rubles. It is significant sum but not huge. 90 and 65 nm topology covers overwhelming majority of military (and space program) applications and, judging by the fact that lithography for 65 nm is ready, next step--wild guess ... I don't know. It is known that demonstrators for 25 and even 14 nm have been in existence in Russia for at least couple of years. Per useless functions for smart-phones, Russians do not mind using Xiaomi's products. So, you see, now Russian shovels and washing machines will become deadlier and ARE already being controlled by C4ISR structure which rivals, and even surpasses in some aspects, US military. Don't tell Sarah Paine, though, especially about roads.

Ukraine is getting ready to approach US negotiators with a rewritten peace plan after talks with its Western sponsors. “Zelensky and UK & EU warmongers trying again the trick with a temporary ceasefire that does not resolve all key outstanding issues and does not provide for a long term peace solution,” Dmitriev wrote on X on Wednesday. 

Ah, never mind, he just tries to be a good guy, in reality he is a traitor, is turned by Witkoff (CIA, NSA, Mossad, MI6--your choice) and says this as to not blow his cover while trying to undermine ... everything.
