Layoffs continue across the freight and logistics industry, with companies in California, Georgia, Illinois, New York and Texas announcing job reductions and facility closures in recent weeks. It is the third round of layoffs in the industry since the beginning of July.

Less non-essential shit to move means the consumption falls and logistics ceases. Simple as that. But in the end, the question is--where is this line which separates pure economics from ethics and culture which imposes such a necessary self-limitation on material possessions, however important, make no mistake--many of them are important.
