Larry gives a good rebuke.
It is almost unbelievable how the West trivializes the achievements of the Soviet army – the army that was responsible for defeating Nazi Germany. These myths have been propagated since the outbreak of the Cold War and in the run-up to the celebrations marking the 80th anniversary of the victory over Nazi Germany, the Russians are being left out of the equation – this cannot stand.
Larry is not alone.
Fiorella almost gets emotional talking about the rape of history. I write and speak about this non-stop.
It is all really simple--Europe, the cradle of fascism and national-socialism was defeated by the Red Army. It has no reasons to celebrate anything, it is a sad day for Europe and much (not all) of its population. People correctly recall this exchange between Zhukov and Rokossovsky in Berlin in 1945: We have liberated Europe from fascism, but they will never forgive us for it. Some do remember though, like this Dutch farmer:
Most don't, and they will continue to do what they did for centuries-- covet and hate.
