In the same time Dnepropetrovsk looks rather ... grim today. All of it, and this is a city of a million inhabitants.

I may implement policies which would prevent circle-jerk about all kinds of nonsense, otherwise this blog will lose its main purpose--to provide educational value (military, geopolitics et al) and a discussion which takes into account reality not media spin. Just one other point--yesterday in Larry's excellent piece about Venezuela only couple of people paid attention to the most important part--Russia is blowing away US "owned" (or controlled) assets. I also stressed--the US will not own anything in 404 anymore. Do you get my drift?

In this particular case it is the town of Konotop in Sumy Oblast.

The main industrial enterprises of the city include the Konotop Casting and Mechanical Plant, the Motordetal Plant, the Konotop Fittings Plant, the Konotop Car Repair Plant, the Aviakon Aircraft Repair Plant, a mechanical plant, a garment factory, a meat processing plant (Konotopmyaso OJSC), a dairy plant, and a bakery plant. Konotop is an important mechanical engineering and food production center.

Soon, most of it will be gone, if not already, with the exception of food processing plant which is needed to feed the population. That also gives a hint to what is expected of whatever will remain of 404. 

Today (the 4th), Russia celebrates the Day of Space Forces. 

 

These are the guys who maintain Russia's critical satellite constellation ranging from GLONASS, Kupol and other recon- targeting systems such as Liana, and, of course, communications. They also track every single satellite in space, if you know what I mean. But then again, Russia's infrastructure for the control of space is immense and includes a vast spectrum of optronic and radar capabilities across vastness of Russia.

However it is unclear if other missiles and drones were also involved in damaging infrastructure. Russians DO have exotic weapons capable of all kinds of bizarre effects on grid and electric power generating plant, including cruise missiles capable of EMP. What if any was used in Dnepropetrovsk ... who knows. But most of the city was plunged into darkness. 

That means more than just a single large transformer was impacted. 

What Happens In Dnepropetrovsk ...

 ... stays in Dnepropetrovsk. They say it is nothing special, just one of the transformers blew up. But for some reason they say it was just a malfunction. Others say it was ... ICBM Yars, LOL)) When Yars flies in, Dnepropetrovsk ceases to exist. Here, though, just the whole city lost electricity. 

Unlike NATO, Russia doesn't fight civilians, even rabidly hostile ones. 

What I Am Talking About...

 ... for years. Russia has an overwhelming conventional escalation superiority. So, IRCM with hypersonic MIRVs. Just a demonstration. 

I will repeat, again--NATO has zero capability to stop Russia's long range fires. Dnepropetrovsk learned it today the hard way. Stress here on hypersonic Multiple Independent Reentry Vehicles which maneuver and are impossible to be intercepted. Albeit, I am sure that 404 will claim a number of them shot down and that will be gladly repeated by NATO's media and militaries. In reality, these are strike capabilities in their organic evolution. But by far, the most important was Vladimir Putin's statement today that now Russia will warn civilians of impending strikes and those who are not going to leave... sorry people, your own choice, this is not anymore just SMO.
