... "relatively sane" being a euphemism for cowards. Plus, this is the essence of US "elites"--they only know elections and have no clue what escalation dominance is. The United States has no concept nor experience with this because it fights only weak enemies with the exception of the WW II. Moscow does hold escalation dominance, while Pentagon has no clue about the way Russian Armed Forces accumulate and manage reserves, hence a FUBAR in Kursk and catastrophe elsewhere (Toretsk, Pokrovsk etc.).
