A series of trade deals between Washington and China has reversed President Trump’s hostility to Beijing and raised suggestions that he will be invited to meet both President Xi and President Putin for a summit in September. A visit by Trump to Beijing would mark a striking U-turn after his months of criticism of China over America’s trade deficits and his accusations of its complicity in drugs trafficking. China has announced plans to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War with a parade in Tiananmen Square in September and Putin has already accepted an invitation to attend.

Well, it is all fine and dandy, but while symbols are important, Trump's presidency has been completely compromised and the man contradicts himself in the same sentence--and those are Trump's sentences, 3 to 10 words--and it is his MO now.  So:

“Why not align Trump’s visit with the September 3 parade?” Jin Canrong, one of China’s most prominent nationalist commentators, said in an interview with Guancha, a Shanghai-based news website. “From 1941 to 1945, China and the US were allies against Japanese militarism. “If President Trump visits China and attends the parade on September 3, it would send a strong, positive signal to the world. The image of the Chinese, Russian and American leaders standing together could be a powerful message of peace and stability.”

Correct, but don't you forget that it was the United States which singe-handedly defeated Axis in WW II and then, also, the invasion of aliens from planet Zoltar. The signal might be important, but the nature of the collapsing empire doesn't change. 

In Diplomatic Pigeon Speak ...

The ongoing negotiations to secure peace in the Ukraine conflict are “difficult,” but Russia remains committed to achieving a resolution, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Friday. Peskov's comments follow US President Donald Trump’s statement that he expects a response from Moscow on a proposed peace agreement with Kiev later this week. Speaking to reporters, the Kremlin spokesman was asked whether Trump’s remarks suggested any behind-the-scenes agreements between Washington and Moscow. He acknowledged some progress in efforts to resolve the conflict but stressed that numerous challenging issues remain on the table. “We believe that certain progress can already be stated. This progress is related to the temporary moratorium that Russia adhered to — a moratorium on not striking energy infrastructure facilities,” Peskov said. He added that while Moscow has honored this moratorium, “the same cannot be said for the Ukrainian side.”

How do we know that Russia has a contingency plan for the US "withdrawal"? Well, through Moscow being nonchalant about this prospect. 

Peskov was also asked to comment on US Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s statement that the US could abandon its efforts to reach a peace deal between Moscow and Kiev if it feels that no progress is being made on the issue. The spokesman stated that whether or not the US would actually withdraw from the settlement process is a question that should be asked in Washington.

This is what I preach non-stop now: the ball will now remain in the US corner permanently until the US makes a decision. There are no good options for the US, but one of them allows to save remnants of the face. At least for domestic audience. 

Meanwhile, France's Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot hails the meeting of the EU foreign ministers on May 9 in Kiev as a "counter" to Moscow's celebration of the 80th Anniversary of Victory, as a huge win for French "diplomacy".

I agree, France belongs in the lair of neo-Nazi regime, as does most of Europe. I can only repeat Keitel's quip about French in May 1945, "What, did these guys defeat us too?” Of course, they didn't, and May 9th is not France's to celebrate--they have been willing accomplices of the Third Reich, no matter how these losers try to rewrite history. 

80th Anniversary of Stalingrad Battle.

Vladimir Putin today will visit Stalingrad. No, it is not a typo--this day Volgograd will officially become Stalingrad again. A number of the road signs have been changed to Stalingrad and in 2013 Volgograd's City Duma passed legislation that for 10 days a year Volgograd will be called Stalingrad (in Russian). 

The scale of this battle is astonishing. To commemorate the end of Stalingrad Battle, three monuments to Stalin, Zhukov and Vasilevsky have been unveiled today. 

At this moment I will not elaborate in depth on the West's "interpretation" of this battle, suffice it to say that at least half of what is known about it in the West is sheer propaganda, such as the fate of German POWs, including causes of their deaths. But then again, with "historians" such as Beevor or Applebaum, who needs Goebbels. 

In related news. A group of Turkish volunteers has joined Russian battalion named after Sudoplatov (Google who this legendary man was) and is undergoing now combat training and combat cohesion, and then will join Russian Army in battle (in Russian). Surprised? I am not. Keep in mind what SMO is all about. We may also never know the number of Americans, Britons and French fighting for Russian forces. We just know that they are there. 

Later, there will be Kursk, Bagration, Berlin, but it was in Stalingrad 80 years ago when it became clear that not only Axis forces will be thrown out of USSR, but that German Nazism will be crushed and Red Army will finish war in Berlin. Stalingrad changed WW II dynamics completely.
