The first hull of project 941 RPKSN (SSBN) Akula-class, no, not Typhoon-class as NATO calls them. Typhoon is a SLBM complex carried by these monsters. These are marvels of technology and engineering even today. 

 

Now it is official--Vladimir Putin approved turning this submarine into museum. TK-208 gets a second life. 

I am sure there will be many people in Russia today, especially submariners (after all, it is a Submariner Day in Russia on March 19th) celebrating the best possible gift they could get for this day. Many bottles of champagne and some stronger stuff will be opened.
